Hong Kong, China Delegation is ready for the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games!

2 October 2018, Hong Kong: Led by Mr. Ronnie M.C. WONG, JP, Hon. Secretary General of SF&OC, sports teams including Aquatics – Swimming, Athletics, Beach Handball, Equestrian, Fencing, Rowing, Sailing – Windsurfing, Table Tennis and Triathlon, together with Mr. CHAN Ming Tai, the Young Change Maker, departed Hong Kong today (2 October 2018) to participate in the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 – 18 October 2018.

 

Hong Kong, China will be sending 25 athletes to participate in 9 sports. The Opening Ceremony will be held at the Obelisk, Av. 9 de Julio on 6 October, 8:00 p.m. Argentina time (7 October 2018, 7:00 a.m. Hong Kong time). It will be an innovative concept to carry out the Opening Ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games in an open space, outside the stadium, and at the most emblematic place of the city.

 

Mr. WONG Po Kee, MH, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 3rd YOG, announced at the Airport that Fencer Ms. HSIEH Kaylin Sin Yan will be the Flag Bearer, who will march-in to the venue with the rest of the Hong Kong, China Team in the Opening Ceremony. Kaylin was the Champion in the 2018 World Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships – Cadet Women’s Epee Individual and achieved a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Epee Team Event in 18th Asian Games. Kaylin will compete in the Women’s Epee Individual event of 3rd YOG on 8 October.

 

The competition schedule and results will be uploaded to the Delegation’s website (https://2018yog.hkolympic.org), through our mobile App namely “SFOC” for both Android and iOS version and SF&OC Facebook Page.
